Taught Course Centre           http://tcc.maths.ox.ac.uk/

The Taught Course Centre (TCC) is a collaboration between the Mathematics Departments at the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Imperial, Oxford and Warwick. By arrangement, WIMCS institutions can participate in TCC lectures. The Centre is supported by a grant from the EPSRC and aims to offer graduate level courses over the academic year. Access Grid technology is used so that audiences can participate in the lectures.

Professor Feng-Yu Wang (Swansea), WIMCS Research Professor, will deliver a Course entitled 'Functional Inequalities and Applications'. It is planned to begin wc 27th April 2009 and run for 8 weeks (appx 2 hrs/wk)

WICMS audiences can view or enrol on this and other TCC lecture courses.

For technical reasons, the TCC can link up live with only one WIMCS institution at any one time.

If you are interested in linking to view or enrol on a TCC course, contact Dr Ian Davies I.M.Davies@swansea.ac.uk

MAGIC Lectures          http://maths.dept.shef.ac.uk/magic/index.php

The organisers currently have kindly allowed WIMCS access to these lectures:

WIMCS students who would like to view MAGIC lectures are most welcome to do so.
An access grid room with IOCOM software is needed.

The lectures take place in the MAGIC virtual room
(go to http://virgo.agsc.man.ac.uk and select MAGIC under insititution rooms ).
The lecture schedule and timetale can be found at
http://maths.dept.shef.ac.uk/magic/courses.php
(Lectures started on Monday 11th January 2010).

Operational Research Taught Course Centre    http://www.natcor.ac.uk/

NATCOR (National Taught Course Centre in Operational Research) is a collaboration between six universities (of which Cardiff University is one) to develop and deliver taught courses in Operational Research (OR) to PhD students, and is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). NATCOR's programme comprises of five blocks of content, each of which has as its focus a one week (Monday to Friday) residential course. Topics cover: Stochastic Modelling, Simulation, Heuristics and Approximation Algorithms, Convex Optimization, and Combinatorial Optimization.
