Dr S Prem KumarSenior Lecturer in Physics Specialist Subjects: String theory and quantum field theoryMy research interests are in String Theory and Quantum Field Theory. I am currently interested in applying the AdS/CFT correspondence to understand the behaviour of stringy gravity by using the holographic dual picture, namely the N=4 SUSY Yang-Mills theory. Properties of this theory and its phase structure at finite temperature can reveal the nature of black holes and highly curved spacetime in the dual string theory. I have also extensively studied deformations of the N=4 theory, such as the N=1* and beta deformations, and obtained a variety of exact results for associated superpotentials and non-perturbative physics. These exact results exploited and made precise the relationships between matrix models, integrable systems and Seiberg-Witten theory |
