Dr Deepak BaskaranWIMCS Postdoctoral Research Fellow Specialist Subjects: General Relativity, Cosmology
I finished my B.Sc. (1996-2000) and M.Sc. (2000-2002) at the Physics Department of Moscow State University in Theoretical Astrophysics. My supervisor in Moscow was Dr A. N. Petrov, and I was part of the Relativistic Astrophysics Group at the Strenberg Astronomical Institute (which is part of the Physics Department at M.S.U.). I did my Ph.D. in Cardiff (2002-2006) under the supervision of Professor Leonid Grishchuk. In 2007 I rejoined the Cardiff Gravitational Physics Group as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow funded by WIMCS.
Research Interests
My main interests lie in General Relativity and Cosmology. More specifically, I am interested in observational manifestations of gravitational waves, both on Earth and in the Cosmos.
